Bargains

This past week, Wally cut down a hollow tree (ulterior motive was firewood).

That would be a hollow tree.

Yep, very hollow.

Weird alien spider Wally saw while working on this project...yikes! Who can identify it? I'd love to know what it is!

I painted our bedroom ceiling (what joy) and our closet.

Don't you just love looking at freshly painted popcorn ceiling?

Somehow whoever designed this house managed to put one of the smallest closets in the master bedroom. It's really small but nice and white!

Saturday we went to the grand opening of the Habitat Restore and bought some great stuff for really cheap (2 light fixtures, a utility sink, a kitchen hood, and a faucet for $63)!

We got 2 light fixtures like this. At first I wanted to put one in Rhi's room, but then we remembered that we want to put ceiling fans in all the bedrooms. So we'll put the smaller one in the hall and the larger fixture in the living room.

The kitchen hood Hooray!

Utility sink and faucet.

I did a search at images.live.com for yellow spider. I finally found it:

(Araneus marmoreus or Holloween Spider in its more common name.)
