Moths

A luna moth we saw flying around last night. We found her dead in our children's garden today.

Tattered wings. Hope she laid eggs!

We found this wild silkmoth trying to fly. I felt so sorry for it, I put it in the butterfly pavilion. She laid all of those brown and white eggs and died. I sent most of the eggs to someone in Texas who harvests the silk after the moths leave their cocoons.

We got some hatchlings, but they didn't do well for us. I let the lone survivor go on a nice oak tree.

I've been working on the children's garden some more. Thanks for all of the birthday gifts to that end :) But no pics today.
